So Much to Give thanks for Print E-mail
Written by Graham Owen

So much to give thanks for...You might think that I would have learned by now.  After 38 years since I chose to be a follower of Jesus, with all that I have experienced by way of adventure in the faith, I really ought to have been more trusting.  But no, I have to confess that although I knew that we had to consider a Gift Day target of £10,000, there were some doubts deep within me, surely it was too high wasn’t it?  But still, that was what we had to go for, so we prayed about it, did our best to keep people informed, and as the subject set for the gift day turned out to be “Trusting God, Constantly “  I had quite literally to practice what I preach and trust God.

So how wonderful to discover that when the day came gifts and pledges were given amounting to £10,004!  That was amazing in itself, but it gets better as to that sum we can add Charities Aid Foundation Vouchers and tax refunds which will push the total through the £11,000 barrier.  All this means that, provided all else remains equal, we can meet our church housekeeping commitments this year.  Praise the Lord! And a huge thank you also to everyone in our church family;  all who have joined in this partnership of trust with God to make it possible.

Register with www.holytrinityfrome.infoIt's been some time coming, but our website (which some will recall had a forced "rebirth" not so long back) is now ready to start accepting registrations again.  By registering you'll gain access to some extended services (OK, they're pretty limited right now, but we've got to walk before we can run haven't we?) and also contribute to our internal communications by telling everyone what you do within the Church.

We hope, with time this will develop into a seriously useful tool that will help us be much more effective in pursuing our mission.  Read on for more information.

Early Warning - 2011 Parish Weekend Print E-mail
Written by Church Office

This is simply to alert you all that we have confirmed our booking at Lee Abbey for our next Parish Weekend in 2011. Please make a note of the dates.
Over a hundred people came on the weekend last year, it was a very successful time with a chance for us all to gather together, get to know each other better and plan for where we want to go in the future.
Obviously it is too early to be able to give a costing but the deposit has risen so my expectations are that the individual cost will be slightly higher than 2009

A final note from the Curacy Print E-mail

The one and only ... Rev Jane BurgessCan it really be three years since I was ordained and came to Trinity? It has gone in a flash. What a time it has been; three very different years. It began with the most unbelievably warm welcome. I knew very quickly that I had arrived into such a warm and hospitable community where love abounded.
The first six months were the most difficult. No sooner had we moved in than the house was pulled apart by builders, our first son left home for university and I was trying to keep up with Rob and doing so many things for the first time; it was a steep learning curve. Nine months after my arrival and having just found my feet, Rob was consecrated bishop in Marsabit but thankfully did not finally depart HTF for a further six months, at which point a year of vacancy began.

HTF Gift Day Print E-mail

HTF Gift DayHoly Trinity, Frome is on an amazing adventure, and no one who knows this church could fail to be impressed by the sheer generosity of everyone who gives so generously of time, talents and also financially to make it all possible.  This is especially remarkable in a time of financial difficulty when so many jobs are in jeopardy, there is so much insecurity around, and countless calls on our giving.  Thanks be to God!  And also to you for all that you are already doing and giving to help make it possible.

Even with all this, and even though we have made some headway this year, we are still struggling to meet our housekeeping commitments.  Currently we are approximately £700 per month short!  That sounds like a lot, but when spread over our membership of just over 200 adults amounts to an average increase  (on current giving) of about £3.50 each per month , or £42 over the year.
