Romans 8:15-17 & Matthew 28:18-20

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. Romans 8:15-17

Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’ Matthew 28:18-20

A partnership between father and son ...A wonderful & humbling truth. God doesn’t use people; neither does He abandon us to get on with things by ourselves. He invites us to come & be a part of what He is doing - not as slaves, not as hired hands, but as His beloved children. “For you did not receive a Spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption. And so we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children ...”- from Romans‬ ‭8:15-17‬ ‭“Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’ ”- from Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭God bless you & walk with you, Lesley & Graham Graham will be back with another reflection on Wednesday.
